Switches

Switch does not appear on the topology map

Confirm the link is up and the switch sends LLDP. A "nodes not in the topology" banner means no data port of those nodes reaches a probed switch; check their NIC links and LLDP. For full switch data, add the management address to SWITCH_MGMT_CIDRS and allow SNMP (UDP 161), gNMI (TCP 8080) and SSH (TCP 22) from MAC.

"Authentication failed" when opening the Web Terminal

Correct SWITCH_USER and SWITCH_PASSWD_LIST (Configuring Switch Access), then restart the master. Writes need a MAC operator or admin account and switch permissions.

SSH host key changed

Confirm the hardware or key was really replaced, then update switch_known_hosts or MAC_SSH_KNOWN_HOSTS inside api-server. Do not disable verification for unexplained changes.

Breakout-mode change does not show new sub-ports

Allow time for rediscovery. If the old ports remain, run docker restart mac-switch-exporter.

BGP peer "stuck in Active"

In Terminal, check reachability, peer address and AS numbers, for example with show bgp summary.
