Switches

Click any managed switch on the Network Topology map to open its configuration panel. All write operations require the operator or admin role.

The panel is organized into four tabs:

  • Ports — physical interfaces (link state, IP / MTU, breakout) plus a Loopbacks section
  • Counters — per-port traffic + queue + PFC telemetry
  • Routes — BGP configuration (neighbors, networks, ECMP, soft-reset) and the kernel routing table with a BGP-only filter
  • Terminal — interactive SSH terminal in the browser

Ports

For every physical interface MAC shows admin / oper status, IP, MTU, speed, and a description. Per-port actions:

ActionEffect
Up / Down toggleAdmin shutdown or startup
Edit descriptionPersisted to the switch config
Edit MTULive MTU change
Set / clear IPPer-interface IP assignment
Change speedPick from speeds allowed by the current breakout mode
Change breakoutSplit a port (e.g. 400G → 4× 100G); MAC restarts the on-box SNMP daemon so sub-ports show up in MIB tables
ResetAdmin shutdown + startup in one click

Loopbacks

The Ports tab also lists loopback interfaces below the physical-port table, with controls to add a new loopback (name, IP, prefix) or delete an existing one.

Routes

The Routes tab combines two views.

BGP

  • Neighbors — add / remove peers; the table shows peer IP, AS, state, and prefixes received. A Soft Reset button re-exchanges routes with all peers.
  • Networks — add / remove network advertisements.
  • ECMP max-paths — read or set the eBGP and iBGP max-paths values.

Routing table

Below the BGP section, the kernel routing table is shown with a BGP-only filter — useful for confirming that newly-added networks are actually being installed.

Counters

Per-port traffic counters with two-sided telemetry:

  • SNMP rates — RX / TX bps, pps, discards, errors (polled live)
  • SSH-derived — queue drops, priority-group buffer watermarks, PFC events

The SSH side is cached briefly to avoid hammering the switch CPU.

Terminal (Web Terminal)

The Terminal tab opens an interactive SSH session in your browser. The "Connected" indicator only turns green after the SSH login succeeds, so credential failures are visible. Use it for vendor-specific commands MAC does not expose in the GUI.

Rear-View Port Layout

Below the topology, the selected switch's rear-view port layout renders a physically accurate faceplate showing breakout mode, sub-port operational status, and transceiver presence. Click a port to scroll the Ports table to the matching row.
